snickery squirrel
yesterday, i was walking home from work when i heard the sound of crinkling wrappers. loud, crinkling wrappers.
that’s when i saw him.

this little guy found himself a snickers bar. still in the wrapper. not to worry, he didn’t let the wrapper stop him. he fought through it, and pulled the snickers bar out with his paws. and licked the wrapper.

and he even had the nerve to litter.

something tells me this wasn’t his first snickers bar.

a sweet end to a long semester
i love getting packages in the mail. especially when they’re full of treats.

this semester was a tough one. i can honestly say i’ve never taken more photographs in a 5-month period than i have this year so far. i continued my job at mizzou magazine and took on a semester as a staff photographer at the columbia missourian. i was on shift at the missourian all day sunday and monday, and spent tuesday, wednesday, thursday and friday at mizzou magazine. i had the occasional saturday off to spend at the farmers market (or probably sleeping in), but on many saturdays, i was shooting left over assignments for either publication. a horse auction, a dog show, a stephen’s college fashion show, and plenty of baseball generally filled my one day off at the end of a long week.
on the flip side, i learned a lot, replaced nearly every image in my portfolio, and i even photographed bill clinton! these dark circles under my eyes were worth it in the end.
yesterday, my mom and dad sent me a package in the mail. when i opened it, a congratulatory note fell out, patting me on the back for making a 4.0 during one of the hardest, and most rewarding semesters yet.

now that’s it summer (!), i’ll be posting the photos i made during this past semester. finally! there will be a lot of upcoming posts before i head out on my june journey across the country. stay posted!
